How to install a tether cord

Thinking about putting my son in the GNCC race coming to ga and I am wanting to know if his pipe will pass inspection and how to hookup a tether cord? Also has anyone ever raced the Xtreme in a GNCC race?

put one wire on hot wire and the other on the neg at coil carfull not to ground it out
