ripping 400?

Boring it out to a 416, hotcam 2, new carb ( not sure which) 10:8:1 ross piston, and works triple rate shocks. Is this good or should i get porting (pros and cons) does this help alot?



I have search alot and if you could just answer these question it would help alot of people out that have real slow internet for searching.

It sounds good, it all depends on what type of riding you are going to do. if you dont already.. get a pipe/silencer. it will make a difference. Porting does help. pros are more airflow.. the only con i can think of is if someone screws it up.

Look at my mods, which are relatively mild compared to some of the ya hoos on here.

My Honda has very hard bottom end "snap". More so than the polaris.

how much does a good porting job cost? do i half to send my motor off?

You can send the entire motor or just the head. A good porting job will prob cost you about 300 clams.

Ive been told unless your a racer, its not worth having it done. Ive also been told that it is a worthy mod.

...its a toss up. Anyone have any other comments about porting?
