You really need to see what special characteristics the pup has when you first get them. I just got a new puppy for x-mas, and soon as he hit the kitchen floor for the first time, he was a mini vacuum cleaner looking for crumbs on the floor. I had to name him Kirby!

my mom and step dad have 4 border collies ....Tuff, T.J (tuff jr) and Nehi (knee high), and trouble ( all very smart dogs)

a few years ago my mom had shepard/wolf mix named chico..

that dog must have had the worst life of any dog, when he was about 6 he was shot w/ a .22 , an inch to the left of his heart, very lucky dog.. he was shot because he was inthe neighbors yard sniffing around and he looked so much like a wolf, they shot him..



he was also ran over by a car, im not going into detail but he had a leg wrap on for a few weeks.

then as he got older his hind legs gave out..

thats when he was put to sleep.

my mom cried for days when he was gone.. they were best friends...literally..
