I'm pretty sure 400EX is the same. If you want strength, order a solid one from Baldwin. It's chromoly.

i'll third that........... infact i've made use of that by converting it to allow for greasing the swinger bearings. :cool:

Having a bolt with a hole runnin' the length of it makes it pathetic. Before people, other than Honda, started makin' new stronger ones alot of race teams would push a chromoly rod down the center and weld up the ends to stiffen it up better. In other words they bend under extreme conditions. Had a hell of a time trying to pull out bent ones a time or two.

i agree mark's pivot bolt is a great improvement but ive never bent a stock pivot bolt

Driving 700 miles to the Loretta Lynn's GNCC and having a stock one break is pathetic. Which is the exact reason I have a Baldwin bolt in both of my Lonestars now.:D
