I've got my stock carb, still.......I might get it polished, but it seems to be working good for now. I've heard the FCR's are awesome, though! Stay with Keihn!

I have the 416 kit, along with the listed mods, and just added an FCR39. I haven't been able to do anything other than take it out for a quick blast down my block, but what a difference. I bought the FCR used, and I don't think it is tuned exactly where it should be, but it still runs strong as heII! The front end wants to keep coming up on me, even at 1/4-1/2 throttle. I can't wait to do some actual trail/dune riding, etc. with this thing. The nice thing about the FCR, is that if you have any main jets for your stock carb, they will work on the FCR. Pilots are a different story though.

Kawsam, I have the same set-up, and its great ! It was a whole new life for the 400. Once you get it and start riding, you will wonder why you waited so long to do it.

If you race motocross I’m sure you only buy a carb once. So you wnat buy the best performing one. That would be the FCR41. Just think about how to make a bike faster, the more air and fuel the more of an explosion can be made from the compression stroke. The FCR41 does that for you. Also if you’re going to throw so much cheddar at a carb why did you get such a mild cam?

You can FINE tune your accelerator pump and the rest of the Carb is VERY easy to tune.... I like mine so far..

well all i do is play around so that cam does more than enough for me also after i bought my 400 i found out that everything inside the motor was all screwed up and needed replaced and i had not found this site at the time and knew nothing about preformance parts for quads also the shop that built my motor was going to put in a different more agressive cam but there was trouble with getting it in so we just went with the xr cam so i could get my bike back

anyways thanks for the help everyone also whats the going street price for the FCR39

why does everyone go with the FCR 39 instead of the 41? On the sparks racing site they sell the 39 for 450 and the 41 for 475. I cant see that the price would be the difference so why don't more people go with the 41? Is it too big for some setups or is there no such thing as too big? I'm thinking about getting one soon so any help would be appreciated.

people say that the 41 is only good if you have a REALLY big bore, or want all high end power. the 39 gives better all around power.

I personally love my edelbrock carb. I think that the only reason FCR is talked about so much is because its what everyone has. No one gives edelbrock a chance. People look at the peak hp on these carbs and not the fact that the edelbrock makes the most low end horsepower. I mean yeah FCR may beat it by 2hp on top end, but what does that matter when edelbrock has it by 6hp till about 6000rpms. Edelbrock is the only carb that outperforms the STOCK carb on low end power. I'm not dissing the other carb because I think you will be happy with whatever you get. Just don't be dissin the edelbrock before you really know about it.

Heres a post I would check out. It has information from a carb shoot out.
