You would lose like all your power if you did that

U will have no low end power what so ever.
What size rear tires are you running now and what type of riding do you ride, terrain, style etc....
let me get this straight... with a 13-39 on 20's.. I would have more top and less low than if I downsized to 18's?

What kinda of trails, long and straight, tight and with lots of turns, ???
With your current gears do you have to constantly switch between gears or can you put it in any one gear and that works for you through all the trails.
example: im running 14/36 and i constantly have to switch between 2nd and 3rd so im going to drop the front sprocket 1 tooth (which is like adding 3 to the rear) so that i can stay in 3rd.

According to the calculator.. If I run 13-36 with 18's.. it'll be equivalent to my 13-39 gearing on 20's.

yup. It should work. The smaller the front and the larger the rear the more low end you have but the slower it goes. If you do the opposite like a 16,36 it will be really fast but no guts to get there. with a 14, 39 it takes off but doesn't go very fast. 95 WOULD BESICK ON A 400!!!! too bad they don't make a 30 i don't think. :( all well, steve
