Ok guys I had a honda 2004 450r a few years back and would like to get somthing else I want reverse and E start. I have found a dealer within 150 miles of me with a 2008 outlaw 525S for 4,500 out the door. Whats your all thought on these two bikes right now I am leaning to the Outlaw cause it has a KTM motor and alot of things I like such as clucth, shocks, light weight, cheaper, more power. So what do you all think!

this is an easy one! many times people ask questions pertaining to which one to buy and in your case id say the outlaw! i dont own either one of those bikes so my opinion is not biased but the 525 motor you cant go wrong. the only thing id say the kfx is EFI and thats really nice. my can-am has it and i can say i dont miss the days of carbs.

That is where I got mine. They had the best prices by FAR. I drove the 3 1/2 hours to pick mine up and it was so worth it.

My cousin bought his 525s there and I bought my Gsxr1000 there.

Great prices and service.

Put a $100 deposit on it like I did. They will save it for you. They are very easy to deal with. My sales guy was Ryan Oneal.

Its 4,409 Total for a brand new quad. SHH lets keep this a secret LOL. The deals to good not to buy one you know what I mean. I would like to ride one before I buy on so if any one lives near northern KY I would really like to try one to see how it is.

Nice find...

I saw the post and pics over in the Kawi section.

So tell me... how is the low end grunt on the KFX450R in the trails where the going gets slow and technical?

I'm leaning really really hard towards this one as my 450cc choice.

the low end is great but I still think it may need geared down just a little for tight tech. stuff I think its the best bike on the market right now it has so much to offer unlike some of the other brands. The rides so nice and the powers there from bottom to the top and once you do the mods wacth out. Best quad I have rode stock ever and I have ridden them all but the suzuki 450 and I am a honda guy and I have to say the kawakaki is very impressive I have not one regret buying it and reverse is so so so nice and its not a slow reverse it has alot of power to get you out.

Hey everyone..

I am looking at a new or used outlaw.. Have it down to 2 options. New 06 with the 500 or for the same price used 07 in good condition with the KTM.

I come from a worked 300ex so I dont know what to expect. Havent ridden anything larger in a long time. I have sport bike experience, so I know what fast is...

How is the 500? Good reliability? How about the KTM 525? Any issues I should know about?

What would you do?

I ride 10x a year all day events. I want something that will last a looooong time. 8-10 years. I am thinking the 525 will provide plenty of power.. But I could always go big bore and components for reliability on the 500 if needed down the road.

I ride trails, no race.. Will jump occasionally but nothing crazy. Just want the best trail quad (IRS) I can find. 700xx is to expensive.

Even if the 525 is used vs the 500 brand new? That good?

yes but depends on how good of shape the 525 is in. KTM motors must be care for such as valve ajustments and oil changes
