Well it has been almost a month I think, and the small birds are starting to accept me;) The jays...well they are just kickin' my rear end, but I have something new for them that should pay off.

In the meantime, this morning was all about the Pine Siskens

I made a few feeders from some gourds I had grown last summer. I know, they are supposed to be painted, but i kind of like the natural look

nice shots! I really like the one were the bird is sitting on the stump with the bird seed.

I am pretty happy with the new spot. My wife is terrified of birds (one got in her hair once) and was freaking out when these little guys tried to eat from my hand. Big step up for me from a few weeks ago.

This new spot is more in the open, and should give the Jays and cardinals some room to approach me more on their terms. Hopefully...a few more days and I will finally get them.

I will wait to trim anything until I see where they like to be in this spot. The shots might have a few branches in teh way but I learned my lesson

Sunday we started on a rock wall, its about 25 feet long for now. This will be the border for a large area I am devoting to just the birds

Well, I think it has some serious potential:sp

The storm moved in right before daylight and dropped some snow on us, and by the time it was as light as it was going to get I was already in the new blind.

Some of these pretty much are throw aways, but I think they show the potential this location has...I hope

There were tons of fights...... With better light and some more practice, this could get interesting

If it hadnt been snowing and sleeting, I would have set up 2 or 3 remote flashes and been able to stop the motion and increase my DOF....oh well:l

This morning was looking nasty, but around 8:30 the sun broke through somewhat so I ran out to see if I could catch a few shots in better light
