Me and a buddy are going to take his S-10 and turn it into an older style body kinda.... We are going to make it so the top can come off just like a K-5 blazer our plans are to cut were i marked on the photo on both sides and the top. re run wires for the rear interior light so it is still functional, then trim it down a little more and bend it a 1/2 inch over to the inside an place weather stripping on the top so when re sealed it dose not leak or let air in. the only thing we aint sure on is what to use to bolt it back through with but that'll come when time is here

Lemme know what ya'll think
we''re gunna start to attack the project this weekend by cutting off the top.

You cant just cut a lil more and bend 1/2 inch in, or the "cap" and "bedsides" will no longer align. IMO best bet would be get some 1/2 or 3/4 or even 1 inch strips and weld those to form a "lip" inside, the cut line. You can also do the same for the "cap" also. Or possibly just a few pieces of strip where you can either bolt or c-clamp the top on.

Probably gonna need some sort of rollbar! At least a hoop behind the front seats with a couple stingers running down and bolted to the floor or thru the floor and welded to the frame rails!

Well its your neck!! My buddy roled his at 25 mph right in front of me and the top immediately flew thru the air and it had all the bolts in it. A roll bar is like a gun to protect the house. Hopefully you'll never have to use it, but when you do you'll be glad its there!
