20 years!

Called my parts supplier to ask why my '88 crank was taking so long to have a new rod put in it. Turns out the shop that does the work returned it because the journals were out of spec., beat undersized from use.

So now I've had a stator, wiring harness, and a crank crap out due to age.

That's a long time. It might have lasted longer if the main bearings were replaced more frequently(?). Usually the lower rod bearing would go before a crank journal.

The only way my crank bearings could have been replaced more frequently is if I did them with every new piston, and not just the annual rebuild.
