as it says....does the tool box off a 400ex fit the almighty R?

i cant find a original R one so thinkin about buyin a 400 one.

anyone know?

Dont know the answer to you question but I have a tool box that came with my R and Im not going to use it. If you would like it pm me how much its worth to ya ,I have no use for it.

Just make sure the lid is secure!(LOL) I've seen many back in the day that started the ride full of tools but were empty at the end of the day. I keep my spare tools in my Hydration pack. Its got lots of pockets.

I used a tool box off of a polaris scrambler on my 86. Here are some pictures. I had to slot the holes just a little.

86 grab bar mounts differ from 88 spacing wise?

Not sure about the spacing. A friend has a polaris scambler and I checked his out before hand.

If you look close there is a push pin like used in car door panels and stuff in the botton of the cap. Little added security. Keeps the lid on good.

Can you measure center to center of the bolts for us?

Its about 5 3/8" inches from center to center.

Thanks! I have a 1995 Laeger frame, and the spacing visually seems much less than that (based on the 88-89 frame I suppose).
