Only bad thing is that they were a ****** to get on. Where the front of the bars meet. It took us like an hour of rubber mallet beating to get that sucker to go in all the way.

that is a 1st gen...lol...i'll post some pics tomorrow with them on my old ex...

ok thanks speedy quad thats what i was looking for. i looked for them again, and still haven't found them, i am guessing pro armor changed the design on the fat pegs, i really would like the ones you have with the smaller round holes in the heal guards. now i only ones i see listed have longer oval shape hole in the heal... is there something i am missing here??

Here they are, no pro pegs. Cant complain they have lasted a long time.

Theres a fat peg version. Then the XC style which is listed above that comes without a built-in footpeg. Look on ebay, they have both on there.

How sturdy are the pro armors? I want a set for my 2000. I want them to last, and not tear up my frame.

Mine were pretty good for the first year. I haven't rode it for almost a year so I have no idea how good they are after that. The only thing I don't like about them is it's hard to get all the mud out of the heel guards and foot pegs.

I would stay away from Pro Armors unless you are just trail riding and stuff like that.

so your the first one to tel me to stay away from pro armors...why is that.. i have think i have down to pro armors or ac racing, which i thought i it would come down to that but i wanted some other opinions.

02-23-2009, 04:30 PM
Prolly because its all a ONE piece nerf bar. So once something bends you cant just replace the heelguard or footpeg. I've heard of alot of people not liking them because of bending and such. Go to rathracing.com and get there nerf/heelguards for the 400ex...

Yeah the heel guards crack and when we had some welder weld it, he said that he has welded soda cans easier. I would buy nothing except for Rath or IMS

i'm a welder by trade, when i was in weld school, the teacher had us weld a pop can along with 2 razor blades, cutting edge to cutting egde. tig and mig welded, the pop can was only tig welded. wasn't a requirement but we got xc for it. the other cool thing was that he welded a gum wrapper back together. thats no sh*t

They shouldn't be that bad if you just ride trails and don't jump much.

hyper-
they look like AC to me....mine look like that but don't have the pegs, i am going to the 450 peg and i am thinking about makeing my own heel guard since the price of those things are outrageous...

off the subject but how do you like the fan on your cooler? the 416 kit? and the 450 carb? these are all mods i am thinking about..

is the fan a spal?

I like my kromelites I have bent the left side though when I was hit. They crunched and not my foot though it was worth the money. I have since bought another set too. I like them with the kromelite front bumper too. steve
