i mistaking bought a elka rear shock & link for a 05 & i have i 07. i plan to use it anyway. can anybody tell me what the effects will be? less travel? lower seat height? anything? from looking at elkas website it states that they were the same for all years but in talking with them they said this is not true & their website doesnt state that. either way i got the wrong one & want to know if its still usable. keep in mind that i'm far from pro & am running stock shocks now so maybe it will still be a improvement.

thanks

You will bend the shock shaft Been their do that.
At hard bottoming it will bend at the end of the shaft.

is it just because it shorter than stock? only measured about 3/4 of a inch shorter. can places like gt thunder rebuild it to fit a 07 ? i plan on buy hls elite front shocks from the so maybe i could get them all at the same time

If you use the 07 dogbone, it will set about an inch lower, but you can adjust most of that out with the ride height adjustment.

We ran that set up in our 06 for a year or so with no problems.

by "dogbone" are you talking about the stock knuckle?

No, the steel piece that goes between the frame and the aluminum knuckle. 06-08 was 1/4" shorter than 04-05.

As long as your using the 04-05 shock with the 04-05 Elka link you'll be fine. With the 06-up dogbone, you'll just sit a little lower. I tried all combinations (including the 04 Elka link).
The only combonation that won't work, is an 06-up shock, with the 04-05 triangle shaped link. The shock spring will hit the frame.
