Ive seen hundreds of porting pictures that are useless because you can never tell where the material is removed. So here are pics of the head I just ported. The right port has material removed, the left port hasnt been touched (Two Faced). This is so you guys can see the difference with good camera angles.

I take what starts as a swooping port and turn it into a straighter shot. This is done by removing material along the bottom of the divider and a small amount from the floor. When finished, you look into the port and are able to see more of the valve seat. The valve guides were shaved, and the bowls were blended above the valve seats because the casting here is not smooth against the machined valve seat area.

I will post more pics when im completely finished with the head.

check out the exhaust ports these are stock and are alot straighter ports than the intake side. I will clean them up but no material will be removed here. I'm not shaving the guides on the exhaust side for reliability considering how much hotter they will get compared to intake side.

I will be running this set up with a kick start xr400 bottom end. It has alot less rotating mass compared to the ex bottom end. The goal is to combine this with the port work and end up with a quicker revving motor.

I cleaned up the exhaust ports but didnt remove any material. The bowl area is alot smoother on the exhaust side surprisingly.

That's cool that you did the work yourself. Wish the pics were in focus though, it's really hard to see anything :ermm:

ye sorry the focus wasnt the best, but compare where the light shines through the valve seat area. That is where the port is re-shaped. Besides that the walls are just smoother and shinier than before, nothin special to look at :D
