Can someone tell me where the idle screw is on the 2009 YFZ450R? Or if it even has one? My bike is idling too high! Thanks for any info!

it may seem to be idling to high especially if you had a raptor last, but the 450's do idle high. What i would suggest is get the rpm spec for the dealer and check you rpm with a rpm meter. that way uk for sure and dont have problems down the road

Yes - you have an idle adjustment screw. Go to the right side of your bike, trace the throttle cable down to where it enters the throttle body. On the bottom of the TB there is a nut that sticks out with a flat head adjuster screw. That is your idle adjust.

That's the screw, but the service manual says not to adjust it. The idle is supposed to be set kind of high.

Yea I wish I would have waited on my service manual until I adjusted it. If you idle it down, it won't start unless you give it gas. The idle screw is really hard to get to & the bike has to be cool because you have to put your hands all over the exhaust!
