How does changing this key give you more power? What does it do...I found one here on ebay.....is it worth it..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sparks-Racing-Timing-Advance-Key-Honda-400EX-400-EX-TRX_W0QQitemZ250365823602QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ2009 0131?IMSfp=TL0901311110006r2124

The quad is stock...

It advances your timing 6 degrees which lets your bike fire sooner so that gives you a hotter spark which means more power. When I did mine I notice quicker throttle response, and It started up better on cold starts.

Does it make it faster or anything like that????? Like how does it work...you just switch out that key with the old one?

well you have to remove the left side cover and you have to buy a new cover gasket which cost like 23 bucks and a new stater cover gasket, and the flywheel must come out. but yes it made a big differance on mine, best bang for the buck mod out there!

This one has a flywheel puller bolt with it too.

it doesnt give you hotter spark it advances the ignition timing. on a racing engine you want to run as much timing as possible up to a point. instead of waiting for the piston to reach TDC and sparking it sparks right before so by the time the piston is at tdc the fuel mixture is fully ignited and pushes down on the piston more and dont have to catch up to the piston going down. this is good up to a point as to much will cause spark knock if it fires to early and hits the piston going up and thus losing power. i hope i explained it well but its early and i had no coffee. but yes this is a good mod, cheap, starts better, better throttle response, more power. heres the DIY link to put it in

Ok...How hard do you think it is to install? Ive taken off many flywheels on atvs and dirtbikes. Shouldn't be a problem then, ya think?

it doesnt change the spark intensity just the timing of it.
