ticking nose do i need to adjust my valves

ok i kno i dont have an aftermarket cam but i noticed that my head is ticken and i have changed the oil and it still clicks do i need to adjust my valves

Yes, atleast every 6 months they should be checked. Also 400ex are know for ticking. GL

I noticed mine makes a pinging noise right before I switch gears. Almost like something is vibrating and hitting metal.

My blaster use to do that, turned out to be a washer on the brake pedel shaft. Grease stopped the noise :)

Is there a sticky or a good topic on these forums on how to adjust the valves yourself? Since mine is an 03, and im the third owner, I have no idea how long its been, or if its ever been done. The quad seems to run fine though.
