I would think the raptor would be a good choice.I now ride YFZ450R but had a 660 Raptor and it had tons of torque.Maybe a extended swingarm?

Banshee. I havn't ridden a 700 raptor but a 660 raptor seems tippy and high centered. Wheel spin seems to be what you need and the banshee is king of hill climbs.

The secret to hillclimbing is being long and low. the old 250R was a climbing beast from my experience. My 07 450R will walk up anything just about. The 06+ 450R is a little longer than the 04/05 and i have a GT Thunder rear shock making it just squat and stick to the ground when im on the gas hard. I love hill climbing too so i understand your enjoyment lol

Oh your are talking about the one isolated banshee that grabbed traction and flipped over backwards. Yeah, that one banshee accident on a hill climb totally makes me change my mind.

Oh look, here is a video of a banshee making a nasty hill climb. First one that popped up on youtube. I don't see a 250r attempting it in this video, its only a banshee that apparently can climb this hill since there is only 1 banshee making it in this video.

id go with a 2 stroke for sure. Something like a 250r or a Banshee. An LT500 probly wouldnt be bad either

700r all the way more torque, better suspension setups, more usable powerband instead of WOT.

Add a longer swingarm and you're set.

<----Doesn't have a 700r.

Not so great for fast trail riding, but my LTR450 feels like your just skipping up a hill usually moving fast enough to get air off the top. It's wide long low and has power. The 18's seem to just rip up hills because they will spin some instead of planting in the dirt and throwing the front end in the air. Downfall most hills have ruts for a standard width quad and it can be scary when your font tires are trying to grab the sides of the hill at the top.

My LTR is great on hill climbs too. Gets right up them with no problems at all. Just put it in second and floor it and air it off the top or just let off a little before the top.

I've never rode the ltr but between a banshee, trx, yfz and kfx

I liked the yfz the best. all were stock swing arm length.

The trx and kfx tend to be front end light while the banshee (though very stabile) is to easy to loose traction with to much wheel spin. The yfz was a good mix of both.

Keep in mind my hillclimbing is in the hills of WV were clutch work and and trees come into play.

Straight line with nothing to have to avoid. I would go with the banshee.

Yeah, it all depends on what kind of hill you're talking about.

A tight, woodsy, technical hill... 250R.

Straight, long hill... Banshee...which IMO are only good for this, dunes, and drags.

Honestly not trying to start a fight I can't believe how little people said the banshee.

As much as you guys hate banshee's, you have to give them credit to where they're due. Hillclimbing is probably where they are the BEST and still considered king of the hill.
Lt500 quadzilla's are awesome hill climbers too.

All the steep long hillclimbs, the 4-strokes ALWAYS seem to bog down. They'll start strong and as they get to the top they start to loose a little steam.
The banshee hit's powerband and just holds it.

For those of you who might've been too lazy to click on the link derekhonda posted, this banshee is only bolt ons like fmf pipes. Never once drops out of power and throws a roost the whole way up.

Cool video!! However, My 250R would have topped that hill faster than that!
