rebuild what kit?

have a 05 450r with hrc kit. will be running gncc. started using oil and shop said it will need big bore kit. what should i do and what kit is the best for money and reliability? thanks

What the? The bike is starting to burn oil so they tell you need a big bore kit?

Sounds like u need a new shop.

You most likely need new rings or valve seals.
$40 at most, plus labor.

The cylinders on these bikes are made of aluminum with a Nicasil coating.
When they start smoking and you put new rings in you don't have to bore them like the old iron cylinders to get new cross hatching.
Just slap the new rings in and go. The Nicasil is so tough that it will last multiple sets of rings/years.

yea i agree with meangreen, but if you got a little extra money u can get a new cylinder off of babbittsonline.com for 200 dollars and not have any worrys about it,and they got pistons to from 150-220 roughly, just gotta get it down to know for sure, but it will be cheaper than a big bore kit either way, but thats up to you what way you wanna go
