I have an 04 trx450r and I'm wondering what aftermarket cam works the best?

If you want more top end get the 04/05' hrc cam. If you want more of a all around cam then the 02' crf cam or the hotcam stage II. Low to mid the hotcam stage I or the 06+ hrc cam.

For best reliability go for the HRC kit

From what I understand the 08 cams will not work in the older R's. I wanted to put the 02 CRF cam in, but was told it would not work as Honda redsigned the cam for 08.
What kind off other mods do you have and what type of ridding ?

I have a pro circuit slip on, and the main jet has been changed out to a 185. My main type of riding is sand dunes and loamy trails.
I would go with hot cam stage one and get a cdi box ( big gun, max rev, dyna) this will keep your lowend power and still rev out and if haven't already remove the air box lid and change out the air filter k&n with outer wear works good in sand but if you ride in heavy dust stick with a foam filter ( uni ) you will need to rejet

I would go for the hotcam II or the 02 crf cam. I really wanted the 02 crf cam but as mentioned above the 08/09's are not interchangeable with the 04/07 cams. You don't want a stage 1 for dunes, would be a waste.

if your riding dunes and open trails, defiatly go with the stage 2 hotcam, or crf cam. stage 1 cam is mainly for low end grunt, and tighter trals. i have the stage 2 on my 04 with the curtis sparks x6 system, and i absolutly love the power delivery.
