I have a 08 450R and the other day I was going to install my skidplate but noticed that there was somekind of rubber hose coming out the bottom by what I believe is the waterpump. My question is, what is this for and should I drill a hole in the skidplate for it? Also the 2 vent tubes that come from the carberator, are they supposed to be split at the bottom? Sorry for the newbie questions but the 450 is a whole different beast than the 400

You shouldn't need to drill a hole for the hose. Just make sure there is a gap between the hose and skidplate. If not, just trim the hose a little.

The split hoses coming off the carb is normal - nothing to worry about.

Thanks but what is that tube for?

That tube is where the coolant will leak out when the water pump seal goes bad.

I also have an 08 450R and have the split hose so it's completely normal.
