i somewhat have a little understanding of what sag is but dont really no how to set up the rear suspension..i have lowered the rear shock all the way..i measured from the grab bar to the ground..with me off it is 31" and me on it is 28"..ino these measurements are way off so i need to no what range the measurements should be in..

thanks

Is this with a stock rear shock?

This is from GT Thunders website.

Q. What should my race sag be??

A. There is no magic number - it depends on the available travel and the application. My personal XC quad has about 4 inches and I have 11.5 inches of wheel travel. With some setups it is possible to end up with a quad to tall or to low if you are chasing a magic number since the travel is higher or lower then it should be due to poorly matched components.

Its pretty much hopeless then.

Just set it by ride height.
The only way you are going to change the sag w/o borking the ride height is to change the spring.

Nothing, the stock rear shocks limited adjustments also limits its level of suckage.
Besides I don't think it can get much worse :P

When you get an aftermarket shock with different spring rates, multiple springs and multiple preload collars. That's when you can mess with the sag.
Even then most people just setup by ride height because they don't know any better.

The only person that can give you a specific sage range is the person that valves/setup the shock.
