Wiring up headlights?

I just got a 07 KFX50 (son) and a 09 Lt50 (daughter) and want to put some headlights on them for trail riding in dusty areas. Basically so others can see them.
The Lt50 has what looks like a light but with no bulb in there. And the KFX50 I was wondering if the Kymco headlight option would fit.
Mounting the lights would be pretty easy, just would like to hear how some have wired the lights and how they effect battey life.

Lights mounted on a machine that was not designed with lights will run the battery down even when being rode. The battery will last a certain time tho.
The stators do not put out enough juice.
Try Ricky Stator (rickystator.com). He usually has light kits that include a new stator that's made to run lights.
