250 EX oil filter [Archive] - ATV Riders Forum

The manual for my wife's 250EX says that the oil strainer should only be serviced by the dealer! Does anyone know how to change/clean it themselves and how often do you do it? Is the valve adjustment procedure similiar to the 400EX, how do you find TDC? Thank you in advance for your help!

I spoke with someone who spent a few hours digging into his motor to clean this screen. It took him hours and he said the screen was spotless. He also said he will never do it again. Just change the oil frequently.

i got a Honda service manual and you got to split the case apart to get to the strainer. the manual even says to clean it every 200 hours of use. lol tear the motor down every 200 hours? :huh i don't think so. i'll just change my oil a little more often.
