What size sprockets do you run? Oh and what brands do you recommend or both chain and sprocket?

15, 38 renthal and a DID 520 gold o ring. I haven't had any stretching or anything for two years. The chain is awesome. I haven't had any problems with the sprockets or anything either. I also have a 14 my mud sharks and a 16 for going alittle faster. but now that I have my 416 I don't really need to worry about going faster. Hope this helps Steve

How long does it take to change out a front sprocket? Like if I was to get a 14 and 15 and decided that I wanted to change right before a ride. Does it take along of tools?

I would say a half hour since you have to loosen the chain and then tighten it again. Make sure when you do the cahin you leave the correct amount of play. THe front sprocket is on with two 10mm bolts that are easy to get loose and there is a holder that turns to lock it on the threads. overall it is easy to do. steve

I used to run 14/36 and it worked really well. I'm trying 14/37 now, I went slightly lower for a shorter 2nd gear due to the tree shots I ride at the dunes. Not sure if I like it yet, feels too short.

Renthal front sprocket and a el cheapo steel rear. I had a Renthal Aluminum rear sprocket and it was wore out after 6 months--not good for a $50+ sprocket.

Edit:

I also run a DID X-Ring chain--great chain. One full season on it and virtually no stretch.

Mine is the stock for 03 right now. I dont mind it. it keeps me cruising in forth gear or third when on the trails and doing about 20mph. I ride with my parents alot. 14,37 would be a good one for going a little slower but faster starts right wheelie?? I have not thought about this for a while now. Steve

When I get her up and running I think I'm going to go with 14/37. Sound good for mainly trail riding 2-4th gear, but mostly 3rd gear.

Right now i have 14/36 with my 18" rears, im going to switch to 13/36 or maybe 14/37or38 right now i have to switch between 2nd and 3rd alot on the trail, if i make it a bit lower i can just stay in 3rd.

Yea. I noticed in the trails I had to shift between 2nd and 3rd a ton. I would like to keep it in 3rd as much as I can.

is a 13/36 equivalent to a 14/39 or a 13/39? right now Im running 13/39 and its good for 2nd and 3rd on the trails. 1st is way short but I can take off in 2nd if I want and still ride with the fronts off the ground.
