Cabinets will work if you have the space. Menards sells a nice little unit for laundry rooms. Things tend to fall off shelving when in transit!

For spare tires you can make a nice rack across the front of the inside. Dont have pics for ya', sorry. If you want run a 2x4 across the front of the trailer, wall to wall, make the space a little tighter than your tires. Then toss'em up there and wedge'em in. Seen it done before and works like a charm!

ya i could do that but i need some extra space to take my gear, air tank, gas cans so i figured by come off the front nose with some 2x4s and plywood it would help me out some and i could still put tires up there

You could put base cabinets or build your own across the front of the trailer for a bench with storage underneath. Then the tire rack overhead.

I have a 7x14 Santek trailer that I did dxactally what your talking about. (I dont have any pics of it right now), but maybe I can get some for you sometime soon.

I also made it into a "Stacker", or "2- Story", over the full length of the trailer. using 2 Racks that I built. (I carry my Landsailers, masts, sails, axles, rigging, and all of our riding gear up top.
Then I've got room for all four quads, fuel cans, Folding chairs, BBQ, and firewood below.
Works very well.

When I take all the toys out, the front rack lowers below the top/rear rack, and rests on the top of the wheelwells, and 2 rear corner supports.
This transforms the toybox, into a "Guest house", with 2 Queen size Bunk beds, that I put airmatress' on.

Then 3 shelfs fold down on the front wall similar to what you are thinking back to the side door, and there is also enough room for a small folding picnic bench that will seat 4 adults comfortably.

I choose the Santek Box/Enclosed trailer because it is constructed entirely with square box tube frameing for the walls of the trailer.
This provided for a strong and easy way to use Riv-nuts in the wall frames, and then bolted aluminum angle-iron to the walls for the racks and shelfs to rest on. This way, I can mount anything, anywhere I want.

If your trailer has square box tubing for the walls, I highly recommend using riv-nuts, over 2x4's. by doing so, you will not lose ANY interior width/space to the 2x4's going to the floor.
as well, the riv-nuts are plenty strong enough to mount overhead cabinets if you so desire.

(I have over 500 pounds mounted this way, using only 16 riv-nuts total, in the walls,... I drive it over dirt roads, and it has never fallen down on my quads).

you can see it in the background here...
