i was trying to get the bearings out of my 87 front hubs and tore it up...how do you take these out...oh and i need another hub to replace the one i messed up,anyone have a extra?thanks

well about all you can do is get a punch and turn the hub over and tap on the opposite bearing. I mean beat it to death. there hard as hell to get out. put never seize on em when u put em back together. check ebay.

if your single then you can put in the oven at the lowest setting ~175 and let it sit in there for 30 minutes then tap the bearing out. then back in the oven for 30 and out to tap the other beaing out. Just did it a couple weeks ago.


If your married or living witho someone, good luck. Seriously doubt she will let you use the oven or even bring in the greasy parts and tools. :D

a 5 pound shop hammer is a must. No nail claw hammer BS. I keep old phone books to stack up and use. this work on motors too. :)

juss take a propane torch en heat it up and with it laying on a 2x, tap the bearings out with a regular hammer en blunt punch or equivelant. no BFH needed to do this. :cool:

i have an engine in the laundry room,hubs in the bathroom,and the frame in the living room..lol.she just roles her eyes..or maybe she just thinks im crazy..

baaaaa hahaha! reminds me of the other nite when i was setting up the cams on a LTR. she asks if this's going to be a regular thang. i'm like "only when its as cold as a witches teeet out side" :D

oh and i forgot my closet...i have about 10 boxes of odds and ends in there...but thats my personal space,she cant say anything about that

i have some 86 style spindle and hubs with new bearings in them for $50 shipped (i believe thats the price I have down for them) The spindles are p/c'd black and the hubs p/c'd red
