I took the top end off my 300 because it was smoking real bad. I thought it would be the rings but they seem OK and The piston is a little scored. Would that make it smoke and lose oil?
The valves are real dirty probably because of oil burning. how can I check if its the valves causing this? or is there another problem.

The best thing you could do is get a 300ex manual if your gonna do it yourself.

Yea it does. It could be many things, rings, valve guides etc. The manual will tell you the stuff to check if you are burning oil.

did the smoking get better as the quad warmed up? it might be valve seals.

It did smoke less when it warmed up.
The last time I rode it 30min into riding i gave it full throttle in 2nd gear and it dropped compression real fast and now when idling in neutral I hear a clicking in the top end. It also bogs down when i move the throttle.

its probably your rings, if you lost compression then its not your seals. Your best bet is to do a top end job. get the cyclender honed(or bored if needed) then piston and rings. valves seals would be a good idea to.
if you got the money, wile its apart you may as well do the top end. my warrior smoked real bad, and when i pulled the top end off i replaced the rings, put it all back toghter to find out it was the valve seals that was gone. so if i where you i would do everything.
