worth it to bore stock carb?

Is it worth it to mod the stock carb? I want a new carb but Im not gonna have the money for it for a long time. Next mod will be a full pipe. I think Im going to go with the LRD. I want a sparks but I just cant afford it. The lrd is more in my price range. Thanks Ant.
