Do any mechanics in here know if an engine from a 96 Tahoe will fit in a 2000 Chevy Express van?

The van has a blown up 350, 5.7, Vortec, longblock, Vin 'R', 4 bolt main.

The Tahoe is a 350, 5.7, Vortec, longblock, 2 bolt main.

I need to find out pretty quick, this is for my work van and it needs to get back on the road.

I don't want any difficulty in the install. Like engine mounts, wiring harness, computer, ..whatever I don't know alot about mechanics...

Heres some links of the motors.

it will fit. 4 bolt main and 2 bolt main have nothing to do with the motor fitting in there.

I been looking on Google and from what I see it looks like it does fit.

Thanks, and if anyone else has some info please post it.

gm made quite a few changes after 98 im sure it will bolt up no prob there, you mite have to change motor mounts thats easy. But you will run into plugs and sensers that are going to be different

Actually the Tahoe motor is half the price and used. Can I change these plugs and sensors off my old motor or something?

go to www.car-part.com and put in the year, of the van, make etc, and your state and find one at a junkyard best route bro

Well I got a bare bones remanufactured for $1500 plus a core. Or I can get this used Tahoe one for $700 and it comes with everything attached (water pump, distrubuter, etc.), and I keep my core.

I figure I can get the used one, save like $800 and then still rebuild my core myself for about $600... And I would still have the option to rebuild my core, or just strip it for parts when things go bad... I also have 2 of these vans.
