those bottom two motor mounts, (the two under the motor) are very thin and weak, and can twist or get tweaked easily making it difficult to get the bolt through. also, those mounts could have been cracked in the past, and somebody welded them back on crooked possibly. post up a pic.

well, if the bolt was already in there at one time, i would remove the bolts on the rear motor mount (pivot bolt), and remove the bolt through the two front motor mounts. have someone hold the motor, and you can try and put the bolt through the bottom motor mount. by having all the other motor mounts removed, it will allow the guy holding the motor room to adjust the motor to get the bottom bolt through.

I take it this is an 86 were talking about? Maybe that bracket is tweaked a little? The one that mounts at the sw.arm then mounts in 2 spots at the rear of the motor.

Might be able to take a die grinder to the mounting tabs that dont line up. Take a little off and check fit, repeat till you can get a bolt in. Eliminate all possibilities before the die grinder!!!

Maybe just bar it forward a little with a pinch bar or phillips screw driver thru the bolt holes? BE CAREFUL IF YOUR BARRING AGAINST THE MOTOR!!

ya i no i was thinking bout that would it make the mount weaker if i did that i just dont get it tho the motor sat in the frame pefert an even when i took it out it was easy but its just the under the engine mount thats not lined up

A lot of times the motor will slide on out then after a period of time the chassis will "relax". Might have happened if that lower mount was ever broken and repaired. How long has it been apart? Did you powdercoat that chassis?

trx250rforlife

it has been apart for bout 2 mounths now i unno i would think that it would just still bolt up

Try to carefully bar it in or use a drift thru one of the bolt holes. you should get it. Open up the mounting tap with a die grinder IF you have to. Just remember, little at a time, checking for fit.

so basaclly try to forse the motor into the mound but also kk i can put the bolt threw the bottom moun but then it doest mount up to the bracket on the pivot bolt should i play around with that bracket

Check EVERYTHING over! I am not to familiar with that 86 mount really. Dont know how "stout" it is. Do the very front mounts line up alright? Narrow it down as to wich one is off! I'm bettin' on that lowest mount being the farthest off.

the front 1s mount up fine the back ones mount up fine its just the one that is under the case that dosent mount kk but when i put the bolt threw the bottom one the front 1s still mount up fine but then the mount on the swinger dont mount then it wierd

Either bar it in or use the die grinder. That lower mount was probably re-welded a little off. Their known to brake. You might get away with smaller diameter bolts thru the back bracket where it goes thru the motor? I know you dont want to cut & weld on that thing.

i dont want to grind or weld nothing i appreaciate all the help but ya its really wierd i might take the frame to a guy who noes his 250r hope fully he can help i was so pumped to break in my motor then this **** poped up

Bar it in. It came out o.k. Know its hard headed going back in. Obviously the guy before you got it in there and everything was good. I f you say nothin changed then it'll go back in. I can appreciate you not wanting to grind anything. Its always a last resort.

I live in Braidwood, Illinois. Good luck with the chassis. You'll get'er done. Post up when you get it shoehorned in there.

Did you pull the rear engine mount out from between the swingarm, if you did you may have put it back in upside down.
The little wire loop on the mount goes to the top so the carb drain hoses can go through. If that wire loop is on the bottom side, the mount is upside down & will cause the rear of the engine to sit high.

Just guessing, Neil

Somethings not right, because it makes no difference what year frame it is & any year model TRX engine, when you sit it in the frame the bolt holes will line up. Something is mighty bent or those front engine mounts are wrong.
If your having that much trouble getting the bolts to line up on the bottm end, lord help when you get to that head stay.
