kicker spring

i disassembled my sons cvt cover to sandblast it and it been a few months since i did this. i for the world can not figure out how to put the spring back it and hook it to the kicker shaft/ gear. the gear has a ledge on it that looks like where the spring goes but the cvt cover has 4 ribs around the shaft opening and it will hit one of those before you get a full kick. can anyhone post a pic of theirs so i can see how it goes. thought i knew all i needed to know about these bikes lol probably simple and im just not seeing it
