My yfz has no air lid a k&n a pro design intake yz450 parts in it (piston and wrist pin, I think some various crank parts) which makes it about a pound lighter, 12.3:1. and a rossier exhaust. It should be jetted properly and it also has the zip tie mod. It feels like it hits the rev limiter very quickly and when in 5th gear it feels like it is hitting it too early. It feels like I'm only going like 60mph and I know it should go quicker than that. Can you run an aftermarket cdi with the cam mod? WHat could be wrong?

This is my thinking... If the YZ crank is 1pound lighter than the YFZ the revs now spool up quicker and this is making you to hit the rev limiter faster. Your CDI is based on the overall RPM's of the motor. Going to an aftermarked CDI with the cam mod is no issue. Probably need to do some research on that crank with a CDI though. Since your motor revs up alot faster go up on your front sprocket. Just my .02

ya it is geared up so that no issue. and the cam mod is where you retard the exhaust timing by one tooth on the timing sprocket. 2-3hp gain and it's free!!! Gives you more top end i think
