85 vs 86???

Is there a difference in the bottom ends of the 85 atc motor to the 86 trx motor? I am trying to decide which one to run my top end on.... Need to fix kick starter on my atc motor since it does not always engage but everything else with it is fine.. My trx case has one bad bolt hole on the bottom of the clutch side.... Any advantage to one vs's the other???

they should be exacthy the same.

not exactly....but mostly. Something about the clutch is different and the kicker gears are weaker. Many have been changed to 86+ gears.
