question about a axle nut

hey guys whats going on , maybe someone can answer my question and hopefully give me the right answer......
will a front castle nut work on the rear axle? my buddy lost his rear one in the snow and i have an extra front castle nut so im worndering will it thread on..... so if someone can plz help me on this is would be great ...
and for everyone that helped me on questions in the past ur help was great

NO, front is 14mm thread rear is 18mm.

hey i lost my back wheel this week end of my 400 and i just got the new castle nut 2day nd it looks complety wrong from my left side. Does anyone no if they changed the nut between 02 nd now?

i dont think that they changed it... all i know it is 18mm thread, and a 2008 hub fits an o4 axle so they have to be the same
