View Full Version : 450r swingarm mod on an aftermarket frame

i am curious if this would work, I thought most frames were 88 or 89 based but i do not know this for sure, but if you could get the rear end from a 450 and suspension it could save u alot of $

i didnt see it in the chart for 88-89 an 450r frame mustless laeger / lone star whatever frames or was it posted lter and not in the chart and i missed it/.

i just read everypage on that link in the sticky and didnt see anything about a 450r swingarm on an aftermarket frame it was all on 86-87 i didnt see where anyone had tried and said no or if it was possible on an 88-89
so maybe im blind so pleas epost a link or tell me i need to know b/c im about to buy soime stuff to test and dont want to waste money

I don't see how a aftermarket frame would be different(assuming its stock linkage). You would just have to cut a pipe to use as a spacer between the gap. I have a custom made atc250r frame, I'm using a 86/87 lsr swingarm, I cut a pipe and sandwiched it, where the motor mount would go. My frame has motor mounts on the bottom frame rail.

well i have lerned alot about them but I was going to go with a cr500 link setup but it sold so I found a new replacement frame but wanted to run the 450R swingarm on it and wanted to know if it was going to fit bfore i shell out finds for an aftermakret laeger frame,
and I cant get a yes it will work or no it wont work or it will work with spacers so if you know please help me with the information.
Thanks for the replies, I appeciate all the info I can get I just dont want to get a frame I cant use with the rear end I want to run,

Why exactly do you want to run the 450R swingarm? What benefits are you thinking you will get from it?
