Quick 400ex Question

Is the frame on say a 2002 400ex the same as a newer 07 400ex?

Reason I'm asking , I like the plastics on the older EX better than the newer EX ... but I like the fact that the new machines have reverse. Would be great if the older plastics would bolt up to the new machine.

I think I saw a post like this earlier. I think for the most part the old plastics do bolt up pretty much perfect. But I'm not 100% on that.

i would love to do that too, except i want newer on my older, infact i'de switch you. let me know.

they should bolt right on...there only difference in the newer to the older is an addition for the headlight on the newer ones...

but the only thing i can imagine that wil present a problem is the reverse knob. but i think you can route that to the handle bars and get a hot start lever and use the hot start for an alternative for the reverse knob.
just thinking out loud here.
