is my tappet clearance to tight?

i probably have about thirty hrs on my dvx. i checked the tappet clearance and i think it is to tight @.05 on IN and.10 on ex @ tdc compression stroke (engine cold measurements)will this do damage if left alone thanks for any response 1st post

Not a dumb question. I just dont have my manual to check for yea at the moment.

i have a manual for a z400 same thing i think its says .10to.20 on in and .20 to.30 on ex it runs fine and has plenty of power but the valves have never been adjusted when i checked them they were tighter than spec im wondering if it will damage the motor at.05 on in and .10 on ex do you also know if you can buy a single shim or do you have to buy the whole assortment

you can buy individual shims from the dealer. $5.00 each I think.
