I've already done the big bore thing (ESR 350), then went to a YFZ450, now I'm looking for a 250r motor combo with close to stock reliability with a smooth powerband and a jump in power (especially torque) over stock. I am also considering a 310PV but right now I'm looking for opinions on the LRD 300 Resleeve from those who have owned or ridden them. thanks

i'd suggest the new ESR310 over a 300 re-sleeve. lesser headache in regards to head gasket seal. juss my .02 worth. besides the ESR has a better port layout.

And better cooling. I don't know why anyone would want a 310 resleeve cylinder unless you're making a sleeper? That would be my ONLY reason to do it.....

lrd 300 resleve is the way to go, many pros like chris borich-matt smiley used them and were sucessful

Yeah, a sleeper, thats part of the reason. I've got 3 stock cylinders so I thought I might do something with one of them. I like the 310PV also, and I'm kinda interested in the CPI Sphinx cylinders too. If I sold my stock cylinders then one of those may be an option.

The LRD 300 re sleeve is a great cylinder if you want tons of bottom end and re sleeve that lasts
If you want one look up LED on the internet, it is arlins new shop, if you buy one from LRD now who knows whos building it
His 300 kits have o rings and dont blow head gaskets.
I have one that was ported for top end, I think by DS who ever that is, it has a fresh hone and a brand new 73mm piston for a long rod motor with no spacer plate
I could make you a good deal on it, but if you want the best re sleeve out there (as many championships have proven) get one of arlins.

I currently have a CPI Sphinx PV on my bike, It makes great top end but realy lacks on the bottom.
If you ride woods, dont go with this set up, get a LED re sleeve, or his NICs ported 310.

jhtrx250r, I saw in your Sig you have or had a LED 310pv... what are your thoughts on that cylinder? It's probably no comparison to the 300 resleeve huh? I am looking for a smooth torquey powerband, something with some low end power that I can short shift.

Still have it thats the CPI Sphinx, I like it but the porting is top end only.
Its is tough to ride in the woods, I only ride that bike in the sand, I am going to try it on a out door track this summer.
I have ridden arlins 300 re sleeves and they puy out way more bottom end. so if its bottom end you want go with arlins resleeve or have him MX port a 89 style cylinder or a NIC's 310. (same casting as ESR or CT use.)
I have been working on getting more torque out of the spyinx, but it was a realy bad choice for low end, on the up side it is great in the dunes, top end is great it runs alot like the CPI cheeta cub banshee motors.

Cool, thanks for the info! sounds like the 300 resleeve could be a fun cylinder. anyone else with LRD or powervalve seat of the pants experience please feel free to chime in. By the way, this motor will be ridden at the oregon dunes but I didn't want your standard dune port motor(had that already). I want acceleration and low end for the trails and tree shots to pull out of the corners and up the hills.

Really i think your best bet is to get ahold of Arlan.
He will build your motor to your power needs, knows what combo's work together, has an amazing track record (with multiple #1 plates to show for it) and his motors are bulletproof.

To top it all off he's a great guy that always puts his reputation and customer first.

I have had nothing but a great experience with him and i have a feeling my 330 is going to rip. With any luck i will be able to start it tomorrow night.

get a stroker crank and get a 275 big bore sleeve. theres a nice stock cylinder 275 big bore sleeve in it capable of being bored to 72mm on ebay right now. that along with a pwk 39 and a esr exhaust will make a decent motor.

What do you think a realistic HP number is out of the 300 resleeve? Maybe 40-45?? With the right pipe, carb, & reeds.

ya you could make over that. you could make 50 flat with porting, reeds, ignition, pipe carb.
