Im thinking about studding my tires for the ice on the lake, I was looking online and seen that people just screw screws in to their treads? How good is that will it do anything to the tires if you only put them in the treads?

I have about 1700 screws in a set of rear kenda klaws and stock dunlaps. The harder the rubber the better.there is 3 differnt lenght screws ,1/4 1/2 5/8 they measure the screw part only.the 1/4s will do the least to the tire but are worthless they pull out way to easy.Im running 5/8 now,They do go into the tire but a put sealent in them with no problem. If you are going to do this i would recommend tires just for that.It sucks pulling them out.ice tires are the best but put no more than 2 studs in each nobby.you can have to many. Slide ways in 5th.D6 harescramble and flat track 111.
