After I put my bike back together from installing my programmer and intake, my temp light is now on. I know that it can't be anything major beacuse my coolant is full and i'm 99% I got everything back where it needs to go. Could I have bumped some electrical to cause this? The engine seems to run fine with my programmer tuned correctly so i'm at a loss. Ideas?

i have never done this on this quad but its worth mentioning.
i had a seadoo with the same problem turns out where the sensor goes into the block you have to use a special non conductive thread lock. it took me forever to figure out but i had turned it once to make sure it was tight and broke the seal and after that everytime i started it and it got hot the temp alarm would sound.

That seems like it's definitely worth checking. I'm going to check my relays when I get a chance because I've taken all the plastic off twice now and been messing with electrical trying to get the programmer plugged in so I may have blown a fuse.

The problem is i'm not brave enough to ride it long enough to make the fan turn on because I don't want the engine to over heat. Does anyone happen to know where the sensor is located on the kawi? Thanks!

This light stays on when there is a problem in the system, not necessarily the temperature sensor. The service manual tells you how to put it in self diagnostics mode to see what the error code is.

Very cool, now of course the next question is... does anyone know either where I can obtain a service manual for a decent price or how to put the bike into self diagnostic mode? I apreciate it as always!

Whenever you have time, I would much appreciate! I rode it yesterday to get it hot and the fan is still kickin' so i'm not dying to get it fixed. I just know it shouldn't be doing it so if all else fails i'll have my dealer check it out. Thanks again!

Well because Chipworkz was cool about helping me I saved $80 on a manual. Also, the bike is only about 8 months old but the dealer wont touch it after it's got the big 3. Seems like a pretty good idea to put it on a forum to me!

Do you mean the O2 sensor just behind the air filter or is there something up under the gas tank?

whats in the air box is the intake air temperature sensor

That would probably only flip a code if the air was too hot, right?

that only compensates for temp changes, i belive it would only throw a code if it failed
