HRC header on 05 450r?

ive read a few places that said the 06+ hrc header will fit on the 04-05 450r. is that true? and would you have to use an 06+ silencer?

I have an '06 HRC header on my '05 with an '06 HMF silencer. Bolted up with no problems. When I did my research I learned that some full pipe kits had the same part # for '05 and '06 450's. So, good luck! My setup works great.

thanks for the info! do you think i'll notice anymore power gains if i have the hrc header and a slip on instead of just a slip on exhaust? i have the hrc kit and air filter...i dont plan on any motor mods

Definitely makes a difference. The stock '05 header is quite a bit smaller than an aftermarket header. And I don't know about other headers but I was able to put my stock heat shield back on the HRC header. So don't throw it away. Looks like a stock bike with just a slip on and doesn't melt my boots:devious:
