anyone tryed to adjust rear suspension?

whats the trick? looks like you have to take the exhaust off or the airbox out to even get the tool in there. i tryed everything and i could not get that little special tool in there to loosen the locking ring top ot the shock. not very adjustability friendly. am i missing a trick? im a heavier guy and i want to make it a little stiffer. if i pick up on the grab bar it seems like the suspension has a little sag to it so i thought i had to loosen the locking ring and then adjust it with that secial tool. or is there a different setting to accomplish this?

Make sure you unload your suspension, and I used a slot head screwdriver with a small hammer. It bungs the locks up, but nothing too bad.
