So We are not drag racers, just sliding, running the bowls at north glasmis, probably south glamis as well and overall cruising around.

What sand tires and rim sizes should I buy for the 250ex?

Do I even need sand tires? some were saying just to run sand sharks on that bike (deffinately not geckos) because the stock bike does nto really have a lot of power so it really did not matter.

So if sand sharks or sand stars are the answer, what rim size for a 12 year old kid at 100-120 lbs?

I see the come in 8, 9 and 10 inch height. The sand sharks I think only sell for 9 inch rim widths. So should I buy 8x9, 9x9, or 10x9 rims?

If it was me I would just get stock sized rims. And I've also heard the same thing, don't run a very agressive paddle on the 250

I agree, stock sized rims are the way to go on a 250. But i would go with Kenda Sand Gecko sand tires because they are good for ripping through the dunes and drag. They are good in any application.

I put the sand sharks on with the douglas blue rims, they work great for this bike. Any more tire and I think it would be overkill. The cheap sand sharks have a smaller paddle height, I think its 15/16" high, and seems to work great. I went with the 8" rims.

you wont "need" paddles to get around but it does help up hills
the little ex isnt a power house so you dont want too much bite

I run my old worn paddles off my 450r on my daughters 250ex and its perfect (kings turbo straight paddle half gone)

check craigslist or ebay for used paddles
