when its cold out(below freezing or so) my quad wont start even with trying to jump it(i need a new batt) so i try to pull start it. when i put it in first gear and pull in the clutch it doesnt roll the tires stay locked like the clutch is out.but once i finally get it started everything works just fine. any ideas on what the problem is?

its normal, the oil is still cold, and it is very thick. once you get it to turn it should turn easier, and when its warmed up it should be good.

mine has been the same way. must be in neutral to start, even when clutch is pulled in when cold. i hace a kicker,it starts 1-2 kicks when warmer out and 4-5 kicks in winter. once warm ,1 light jab!

Not trying to hijack the thread but my 07 slams into first gear. All the time. less when warm. One thing i noticed with the choke out, which makes the engine rev higher and i let out the clutch a tiny bit it goes forward.

so im thinking the clutch needs to be adjusted? Any ideas?
