there ok i ve never used them but i have heard good and bad. i have heard they will shatter or crack if you run extremely high compression. they are lighter than forged pistons but are not as strong as the wiseco.

You'll need to set the piston to cylinder clearance tighter than on a Wiseco.
The cast piston, you could set it up 0.0001 to 0.00015 & do a serious break in & it should be ok.
Compression wise, 200lbs or more need to keep a check on it & not try to run it to long, seen quite a few crack from the wrist pin hole up & half way across the dome.

i run a prox piston in my race quad for a full season with no problems, the compression was about 180 psi, when i took it out still looks good with just minimal wear,a cast piston doesnt expand as quickly as a forged one so you are less likely to nip it up until the engine is hot thats why you can have less piston to bore clearance,i would definetly use them again,i also run a prox conrod, good stuff for the price :)

the only reason i would ever run one is you can run tighter tolerances and there lighter than forged. just get the piston and run it. if you dont like it get a wiseco.

wiseco vs pro-x... at this point you should use searching mechanisms. You'll find the same points made a few times in different posts and across board forums. You can also query for cast vs forged. They're ollllld questions.

Any tighter than .002" and you're looking for trouble. The reason I don't use them is they are heavier than a Wiseco.

i have been running them for years with no problems but as Neil mentioned, the tolerances should be set a bit tighter than a forged and if ran with a compression higher than pump. i would use a Wiseco.

The piston to cyl. clearence is set by who ever does your bore job. So in other words, dont worry about it.

We sell tons of Wisecos and ProX-they are both a good piston.
