Why would you want to chrome plate the axle?

From some of the pictures I've seen of your quad buried under 300 pounds of mud, the chrome wont last very long....

300+ doh!

haha just playing.. but the reason is because I am going to sell it (or trade it) and the chrome paint isn't holding up..

If you took some time and did it yourself, it wouldnt cost anymore than the can of Mothers polish and a Powerball...

And you can save your arms and let the drill do all the work.

But really, unless your going to sell it to someone who's riding in the dunes, whats the point in a shiny swimger and axle? Especially if those are basically the only chrome parts. They're just going to stick out like a sore thumb...

To each his own though.

or since its aluminum just leave as it is after its sandblasted. depending on what blasting material you use you can make some cool looking parts.

you can to chrome aluminum you just have to copper plate it first instead of nickle plating it and the cost all depends on how shinny you want it cuz all you do is dip it in a light acid mixture and it takes grease oil of then you sand blast it to take off rust then acid was again then dip it in a 3 tank process and then hand shine it with clays and sanpapers lightly like 1500 grit not that hard. but it dont take much

all very true, but it still dosent hold up like chrome on steel.
Although it can be done for reasonably cheap.
A buddy of mine had all 4 of his stock alloy wheels on his car chromed for about $230, so i'd assume that a swinger would be 1/4 to 1/3rd of that cost.

Colton, call around to some local wheel shops, and see what they say.

Powder coated chrome looks nothing like chrome..

I may just do the following.. it will be much cheaper (I am running outta cash!)

Paint the Oil Rezzy black, clear coat
Paint the Swinger black, clear coat
Paint the Axle ______, clear coat

Whats werid is if you clear coat chrome paint it turns a dull grey color right away.. :scary:

Ok, so how much do you think it would cost to chrome JUST the axle? (roughly)

gmcsonomaex

should be like 50 cuz to polish an axle would be way easy so its little work.
