96-98 XR400 ross piston in a 400ex?

Ross has a 10.5-1 standard bore piston (85mm) for the xr400. can i use this in my 02 400 ex with no problems? Can i also run the xr400 head gasket to keep the true 10.5-1 compression without changing any thing else? This thinner gasket wont affect timing or antyhing will it.

I have the xr piston. I dont think there is any difference.

what compression are you running. Im worried about running to high of a compression here in southern arizona and getting a lot of detonation because of how hot it is here. And which head gasket did you use, the stock one or the xr400?

10.8:1. Im using a cometic gasket. Im thinkin about gettin an xr400 gasket though.
