OK. I don't race but I do love to ride hard in the Oregon dunes. i.e. as fast as I can over whoops and as fast as I can up dune faces. I like to jump but am pussified and rarely get air above 3 or 4 feet.

with those two as the choices,
and your style of riding, (much the same as mine)
my suggestion would be whichever you can get cheaper.

either choice will be quite satisfactory.

my motto is, Most Improvement for Least Cash.
I.E.- Best bang for your Buck

Some people here are quite the other end of the spectrum, and seem to pride themselfs with how MUCH cash they can shovel into their bike.
Nothing wrong with that, if that's what "Floats your Boat", and the cash supply is endless.

Which ever set up is more adjustable is the one you should get. Adjustability is what makes shocks good, so you can tune them to your riding style. Im not sure which ones are between the works and the 450 rebuilds,
