Glowing Header Pipe??

I just picked up a brand new 2008 trx450er and have maybe an hours worth of riding on it. Has anyone had a problem like this. Maybe jetted wrong from the factory? I need help. Or is this normal. From my car back ground. That means it's running lean or the timing is off.

my dasa does that when it idles but when you rev it up it goes away and my 2nd cousins yfz has a sparks on it and it glows big time! idk either if its good or not

The DASA on mine glows like crazy. Every aftermarket pipe i've seen Does it. But to be honest I've never seen a Stock Header do it, Not when idleling anyways.

YEAP NORMAL... got a HSt and it glows so red that at night you can see with out lights...lol

My stock glowed for about the first 3-4 inches when idling and thats with the R being completely stock. I put an FMF header bomb on it and now it glows no matter what.

Its normal for it to glow but if it glows too far down the pipe then it might be running lean.

yea actually alot of companies build there header pipes on purpose this way it sucks heat away from your motor makeing it run a little cooler

Whats going on guys with the pipes they are all using very thin gauge tubing to save cost and weight.I've had the same problem with cheap headers that guys want installed on there cars.Even though they are coated they still glow at the head where the pipe is coming out of the flange.
This also can be a lean factor or the timing is off but 90% of the guys on here say it is normal so this must be the reason.

should be normal.. mine does it but i have a worked engine and everything...some people say when its new its burning like some film or something off the pipe..idk just going by what theyve said..

my 07 450er did that when i first got it, and after i put a pipe on it and jetted it doesnt do it any more.

FWIW< i have never seen a glowing pipe on a properly jetted and tuned quad. I have let mine sit for up to 15 minutes in the evening at glamis and it only had like 1 inch of glow. the stock header did glow once about 3 inches but that was before i knew what i was doing.
